or just buy an actual network tap. at least then you can filter what you want to mirror and not. filter out SSL/TLS for example if you don't do decryption.

And it’s so much easier than trying to get mirroring set up and remembering to turn it off. I kept a hub in my bag for years and it’s never let me down.

Wait until you hit a bug in your switch that it doesn't mirror certain packets and you go on a long hunt for the firewall issue you think you have. Always passive taps. Hub or throwing star since then
