we replaced our transom windows and their hardware. it’s costs a fortune, but it does really look amazing

I grew up in a house built in 1909,and it had transom windows. We also had this huge 4ft fan in the attic that allowed us to crack out outside windows and the transom, pull air through the bedrooms

they've been removed because they're a fire hazard. it allows fire to move much more quickly.

if your town is small enough put up a flyer at the local community board at the library or coffee houses asking if anyone's getting rid of these types of windows how I get 90% of my stuff for my house

I work for Andersen Windows & even before had an interest in history/architecture. Transom is the lumber bt door & window thus it’s a transom window. The ventilation reason for them isn’t just cooling
