Delicious Custard Buns Recipe 🤍 Soft, fluffy, and filled with creamy vanilla custard, these buns are a delightful treat for any occasion. 🥰 📝 Ingredients For the dough: •	250 g all-purpose flour (2 cups) •	30 g sugar (2 ½ tbsp) •	5 g dry yeast (1 ½ tsp) •	120 ml lukewarm milk (½ cup) •	30 g soft butter (2 tbsp) •	1 medium egg •	1 pinch of salt For the custard filling: •	50 g sugar (¼ cup) •	20 g cornstarch (2 tbsp) •	1 pinch of salt •	250 ml milk (1 cup) •	3 egg yolks •	1 tsp vanilla extract •	1 tsp butter For decoration: •	50 g dark chocolate chips (or to taste) •	Milk or cream, for brushing •	Powdered sugar, for dusting 🤍 Instructions 1.	Sift the flour into a bowl and create a well in the center. Add the yeast, a small amount of sugar, and a portion of the lukewarm milk to the well. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Add the remaining ingredients and knead the mixture into a smooth dough. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size. 2.	Heat the milk in a saucepan until hot but not boiling. In a separate bowl, mix the egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Slowly whisk the hot milk into the egg mixture, then return the mixture to the saucepan. 3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbling. Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla extract and butter, and let cool slightly. 4. Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the custard evenly over the dough and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Roll the dough tightly from the long side to form a log, then cut into 8 equal pieces. 5. Place the buns cut side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Gently press them flat with your hand and let them rise for 30–40 minutes in a warm place until puffed. 6. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Brush the buns with milk or cream and decorate with additional chocolate chips. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown. 7. Allow the buns to cool on a wire rack. Be careful not to touch the soft chocolate chips on top while they are still warm. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy! 🥰
