main things I looked for on reports, 1) are they respectful of their teachers and fellow students. 2) do they try their best and achieve to the best of THEIR ability. 3) they don't behave like a dick!

Nah. Your teacher is right. You need to support them grow. Helping achieve will give them tools for life. Mentally and emotionally. I agree that it’s more important they’re happy.
