HOMEMADE PASTA & THE BEAR MARINARA SAUCE 🍝 if you’ve never seen the bear.. you haveeee to watch it it’s so good AND so is this meal it’s my fav to make recipe below PASTA: INGREDEINTS: (single batch - I doubled) - 2 cups all purpose flour, 3 eggs, 1/2 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon salt INSTRUCTIONS: 1) place flour on clean surface and create nest. Add eggs, olive oil and salt to middle of nest. Mix with fork and incorporate flour inward as long as possible without breaking nest (I find it makes dough smoother). Knead dough with hands until smooth and bounces back when pressed, form into ball and wrap in plastic wrap. Let rest for at least 30 minutes. 2) slice dough into 4 pieces, run each through roller attachment 3 times at each level of kitchen aid (or roll out with rolling pin), then run through desired pasta cutting attachment (or cut with knife by hand). Be sure to separate layers of pasta with lots of flour to prevent sticking together! Boil pasta only 2-3 minutes, drain and add butter or olive oil. Serve with sauce THE BEAR MARINARA SAUCE: INGREDIENTS: 1/4 cup olive oil, 5 garlic cloves cut in half, pinch red pepper flakes, 1 white onion cut in half, 4 tbs butter, handful basil leaves, 2 small cans crushed san Marzano tomatoes (small cans are better per the bear!), salt pepper & sugar INSTRUCTIONS: 1) add olive oil, garlic cloves, basil leaves (with stems) and red pepper flakes to a large pot and cook over low heat. Remove basil when wilted, then garlic & olive oil when garlic is browned. Set aside until cooled, then process in food processor. 2) melt butter in pot. Add onion chopped in half and cook until lightly browned. Add tomatoes & salt, simmer 15 minutes. Add processed basil mixture and simmer another 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt, pepper &b sugar!
