2024 has been a year focused on bringing life into this world 🌈🤍🥹 Words can't fully capture how thankful I am for the journey to my baby. I truly believe her soul has visited me before, through the two miscarriages, but the timing wasn’t right. Those losses, however painful, gave me my first taste of what death feels like, and in a way, prepared me for the transformative experience of becoming a mother. When I found out I was pregnant this March, I was overwhelmed with gratitude for how quickly her spirit returned. I knew, deep in my soul, that this was the one. My pregnancy was physically smooth, but mentally, it was a battle. Every day, I feared losing her, or that something would go wrong. It became a lesson in surrendering control and trusting the journey… which led me into my birth. Of course, the birth didn’t go as planned, but in so many ways, it was perfect. I ended up in back labor (iykyk) and reached a point where I was ready to give up and take medication during the transition phase. But my spirit guides were with me, and somehow, I found a strength I didn’t know I had. I reclaimed control of my labor and chose to continue naturally. Because of that decision, she was born healthy—our midwife later shared that had I stuck to my original birth plan (a water birth or opted for an epidural), she likely would have gotten stuck. I've come to realize that the purpose of birth is to challenge us, to push women to their limits, and show us the immense power we hold as mothers. Birth teaches us how to alchemize pain into strength. Our culture often avoids discomfort at all costs, but parenting will always be uncomfortable. It’s a new chapter without a guidebook, and I believe pregnancy and birth are the ultimate prep for that. I wasn’t the only one to be reborn that day—Charles was born into fatherhood. Watching him fall in love with her, protect her, and adore her has deepened my love for him in ways I didn’t know were possible. He’s already wrapped around her little finger and is definitely a girl dad 😂. I’m also incredibly grateful for how much he’s supported me during my recovery. Postpartum is such a vulnerable, sacred time. And of course, I’m so thankful for our fur baby—the soul who first taught me how to nurture and love something unconditionally. Watching him love our little girl has been such a beautiful, full-circle moment. 🥹 Today marks 3 weeks with our girl, and I’m feeling so incredibly thankful!
