For everyone saying “take it away” that’s how you get bit. Most trainers would tell you to fix resource guarding offer something else, let her take the other thing then take away what she’s guarding.

Try bringing a treat when your are near while she’s guarding her bone! That way she has a positive association with you being near her bone! Rather than thinking you’re gonna take it away ❤️

My lab was also a resource guarder, the safest thing to do while u look for a trainer is to not let her have bones

My dog used to do this he’s a pit I would sit there and when he would growl in the sweetest voice just tell him I don’t want it and don’t take it jus give her reassurance pet her just be nice don’t

it’s not her feeling bad, she’s protective of her food, i’d say get better with the command “hold” before you give her a treat, also practice making her wait back while you take it, also definitely

Yeah look into resource guarding! Most of the time if you don’t need to mess with their stuff, don’t. The taking away scares them, but there’s better explanations online!

my lab does with this his bones, so now i took the bones away and there are no more problems. i give him plenty of other stuff to chew on and he is just fine

I put my dog in his kennel to eat stuff if he wants to act out. it's his, but he can't be growling. after doing that consistently he just takes high value treats to his kennel

Try giving her a very high value treat whenever she has the bone, put it down close by. She will realize you coming close to the bone is actually good

Do your research with the trainer you choose. We had a terrier who was abused and VERY aggressive but we kept him. We got a trainer and none of them helped him. I hope it works out for you guys❤️❤️
