So would dinosaurs have reptile scales or just skin similar to it or would it be more like the fleshy skin that birds have? Of course scaled up to the dinosaurs as it would likely be rough either way.

they have reptilian ancestry, but like all archosaurs, have 4 chambered hearts, so warm blooded (or can swap). mammals also evolved from ancient reptiles but we are not reptiles

my old dino professor was very insistent that birds are non-dino archosaurs, not dino’s. he made some good points but it didn’t make sense to me that he’s one of only paleontologists to think that
