i of course feel bad for OP, but i so also feel bad for OP’s son. he’s been missing his family due to his mothers isolation processing, and OP should make an effort to make sure he isnt isolated too

Each person goes through greif differently it's not ops fault that sister smiled through hers. When I had one I basically shut down for weeks when my sister had one she let herself shut down 1/2

something is fishy here. she is late because she had to buy a gift for an event she knew about well ahead of time and kid had a tantrum and she didn'tcall ahead? She admits to evading her family without explanation. there is more here.
