I’m also counting the “Loras is not really burnt” theory as bs because the Tyrells would gain nothing from this lie considering Margaery has a far higher chance of surviving her trial by combat if Loras is fighting for her, rather than Meryn Trant or Boris Blount. In the show, Sansa’s story ended with her becoming a cold hearted schemer, disillusioned with romance. I think her story in the books will have a different ending, because romance has been such a big part of it. Look at this GRRM quote on the next slide and try telling me he will have Sansa be disillusioned with love: “We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory, and our great tragedy.” The first option she might marry is Harry the Heir, introduced to us in a TWOW teaser. But no one really thinks this guy will be around for long. I personally agree, he could be killed in a trial by combat or a jousting accident. Either way, I’m not putting my money on him living to see the end of TWOW. Another option is Robert Arryn, but I wouldn’t bet on this because it would be a pretty un-romantic marriage. He’s closer to being a son to Sansa than a lover. A third option is Loras Tyrell. This would create an interesting parallel. In the first book, Loras was Sansa’s idealized knight and Sandor Clegane was a more realistic idea of a lifelong warrior. Now that Loras has been burnt, he could be someone similar to The Hound in that he might be more bitter in terms of personality and Sansa could sort of bring back the humanity in him. This could be a marriage with love if Loras is bi but if he’s fully gay I don’t think this would happen. Another option is Willas Tyrell. In a previous video, I stated my belief that he will be King Bran’s Master of Coin (going along with the theme of the small council will be filled with misfits and people that have been looked down on). Maybe Sansa could help him with his job and use some of Littlefinger’s tricks for good instead of treachery. But my favorite option is the person on the next slide. Gendry is everything Sansa wanted Joffrey to be: Handsome, brave, kind, a good fighter, a son of Robert Baratheon. I think Sansa and Gendry would have a good parallel being a very highborn person and a very lowborn person. “But Birdman,” you quail. “Gendry is far too lowborn to be a match to Sansa!” We know Brienne is Lord Selwyn Tarth’s sole heir. Brienne will probably be spending time with the Brotherhood Without Banners in the next few books, and the good ones (like Gendry for one), will probably follow her instead of Stoneheart.
