LEG PRESS TIPS ⏬ 1.) Make sure you put your feet low enough to get as much knee bend as possible at the bottom, but high enough to be able to press with your heels. 2.) Stance width is essentially for comfort only. How wide or narrow it is can slightly bias adductors vs. quads, but even a wide stance can hit mostly quads if the ROM at the knee is high. Chose a shoulder width stance and adjust from there. The stance that gives you the most ROM at the knee while making your lower back bend the least is often the best stance. 3.) Point your feet in a comfortable direction. That usually means slightly out for most people, so start there, but if you notice that your joints and quads feel better a bit more straight on or a bit more out, that’s totally fine! 4.) Make sure that your butt doesn’t leave the seat in a way that strains your lower back at the bottom of the movement. If you can’t fix it with stance and back rest adjustment, some yoga pads under the lower back are game changers. I have two of them!
