There is no telling parent how to parent it’s a safety precaution child or not you should have a life vest on and most lakes/oceans/posts that require life vests on everybody in a boat kayak etc

I stood next to a tiny casket that held the body of my friend’s two-year-old daughter who drowned. I held my friend while she sobbed. I held her up so she would not fall on the ground. Her daughter looked like a sleeping angel. Put a life jacket on your kid.
