I still got it🔥💪🏼 Like riding a bike, I feel I can step out on the field and pick up where I left off. Just a few different kicks randomly in the gym! Two different styles: really extending through the swing and more of my natural swing, which is a little less vertical. I'll always wish I had that one more game; that one more opportunity to play. It always bothers me, and it's certainly hard to shake. When you spend 10+ years chasing a dream, just to have it taken away after 2 years, it's hard to swallow. I'm grateful I made it and did something most will never do, but like any athlete, you don't want an injury to take you out of it. The hard part is that after busting my ass getting healthy again naturally, no team wants to bring you back in... even after having a very successful season. Knowing the skills are still there and performance wasn't an issue... you just become old news fast.. but that's just the NFL. I ended up making an XFL roster in 2020 and was going great... but it was cut short due to a world pandemic. I think about it all the time. I miss it. Was a part of my life for a long time. I retired due to the realization that no teams were calling anymore, not because I didn't believe in my ability anymore. I know I can still perform at the highest level... but the phones just stopped ringing🤷‍♂️ Again, I'll always be grateful for the opportunities I did have and being able to reach my dream.... but I'll always wish I had more. I'll forever keep football in my life and do stuff like this - kicking in the gym or out on the field randomly. This next chapter has been helping young athletes chase their dreams🔥💪🏼 Stay strong! 👊🏻 #gridirongatewayelitetraining #ggetbetter #Jakeschum #punting #punt #kicking #kick #nfl #football #dad #fitdad #girldad #motivation #dream #believe
