What a journey. For those who’ve been here for a while, you’ll know I’ve shared so many different versions of myself online over the years and let me tell you, this is one of my favourite ones yet. Growing a little human while learning how to stay strong and take care of myself has been one of the most challenging, humbling, and rewarding things I’ve ever done. When I found out I was pregnant, I made a commitment to learn and grow through that chapter and as I shared my pregnancy, I also want to share what comes next. This new season of life, postpartum is one I’m stepping into as a beginner. And I’m looking forward to continuing to navigate it with care, curiosity, and compassion. I’m working closely with professionals I trust, and I’m passionate about sharing what I’m learning especially the parts I wish were spoken about more openly and accessible online. Reminder: Mamas are allowed to prioritise their recovery too. Here’s a little of what my recovery has looked like at 3 weeks postpartum (c-section): • SRC Recovery Shorts – I started wearing these a few hours a day post-surgery, and gradually built up to all-day wear. • Tubigrip – I began wearing this at night from days 3–4. • Daily Walks – I focused on complete rest during the first two weeks, and I’ve slowly been increasing gentle walks based on how I feel. • Meals – Nourishing my body with supportive, balanced meals. • Hydration – Aiming for 2.5–3.5L of water per day. • Scar Care – Using vitamin E topically from week 2–3 and starting light scar massage around the area (not directly over it yet). • Physio – I had my first postpartum physio appointment at 3 weeks, where I was given tailored exercises to gently begin rebuilding, always checking in with how my body feels. This experience is brand new for me, and yes, at times it’s overwhelming and scary. But I’m taking it one day at a time, with no rush. Just steady, intuitive steps. Everyone’s recovery looks different, and that’s okay. Listen to your body, take it slow, and don’t forget that your wellbeing matters too. I’ll continue sharing as I go, sending love to any new mamas navigating this alongside me.
