✝️ 21 CHRISTIANS KILLED BY ISIS AFTER REFUSING TO DENY JESUS CHRIST In 2015, 20 Egyptian Coptic Christians were kidnapped by ISIS in Libya and later taken to a beach near Sirte, where they were executed after refusing to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ. A 21st man, Ghanaian migrant worker Matthew Ayariga, was also captured and killed alongside them. According to accounts preserved by Coptic and Catholic sources, Ayariga was asked about his faith. After witnessing the courage and steadfastness of the Christians beside him, he reportedly answered: “Their God is my God.” And he remained with them. Twenty men had already made their decision. They would not deny Christ to save their lives. And Ayariga chose to stand with them. They were not soldiers. They were migrant workers. Ordinary men who were taken captive and placed in an unimaginable situation. Yet when faced with the ultimate cost of following Jesus, they refused to abandon Him. Their deaths became known as the 21 Martyrs of Libya, and the Coptic Orthodox Church recognized all 21 as martyrs. In 2023, Pope Francis also added them to the Roman Martyrology. Matthew 10:32: “Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.” Their killers intended to silence their confession. Instead, their final stand became a testimony heard around the world. “Their God is my God.” ✝️ #ChristianPersecution #JesusChrist #Martyrs #Faith #CopticChristians
