@heynikeh: TRAVELLING FROM ACCRA, GHANA 🇬🇭 TO ABIDJAN, IVORY COAST The trip typically takes between 11-12 hours then the extra hours depend on the border protocol duration. I used UTB @utbciabidjan and the ticket cost 620 cedis (N62,000). The ticket didn’t cover border protocols as I had to pay 10,000 CFA to stamp my passport. They mentioned that this was a one time payment and i wouldn’t have to pay on my return trip. Ghanaians paid only 5,000 CFA. The border is called the Elubo Border and it was very huge but organized. We had to walk for at least 15 mins for the entire process. They take health seriously here so you have to have your yellow fever vaccination card and also have vaccination against meningitis. Using a luxurious bus will make the entire process longer because of the amount of people in the bus but it is still advisable especially for first timers because they handle the entire process. You should change your currency at the Ghana side and can buy an Ivorian SIM card at the Ivory Coast side. 1000 CFA was equavalent to N2,750 when I visited (September 2024) The journey from the Ivory Coast border to Abidjan is another 3-4 hours. But you may get an extra hour to get to your destination in Abidjan because the traffic in this city choke 😏 Would you go on this type of road trip?
