Rharrit, who made the comments in an interview with CBS show 60 Minutes on Sunday, was stationed in Dubai and tasked with monitoring Arab press and social media to document “how America’s role in the war was perceived in the Middle East”. She said three months into the war she was informed that her “reports were no longer needed”. In April 2024, after working for the US government for 18 years, Rharrit resigned in opposition to US policy in Gaza.
