Namaste. My name is Dinesh Sunar, and it is an incredible honor to stand before you today at the Nepalese American Law Enforcement Association’s Community Leader Appreciation Day. I want to begin by expressing my deepest gratitude to the organizers, teachers, friends, supporters, and my family—because without you, I would not be here today.I was born in a small village called Khotang in Nepal, a land known as the top of the world—home of Mount Everest and the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, the messenger of peace. My upbringing was in a very poor family. My parents separated when I was still a child, and as a teenager I grew up without guidance, without opportunities, and without the resources most children have. My playgrounds were sand mountains, riverbanks, and lakesides. But even in the middle of hardship, I carried one treasure with me: a dream. From the very beginning, I was inspired by action heroes like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Nepal’s own Nikhil Upreti. I began practicing flips, stunts, and gymnastics alone, with no coach, no mats, and no equipment. Many people laughed at me, calling me crazy, saying I was wasting my life. But I never gave up. I told myself: “Never say never.” I believed that one day, the world would know my name.Through struggle and persistence, I discovered parkour. Parkour is not just movement—it is philosophy. It is the art of overcoming obstacles and finding freedom in motion. That philosophy carried me from the riversides of Nepal to the international stage. And from 2017 until now, I have broken 21 Guinness World Records, recognized across Nepal, Asia, and the United States. My achievements include wall flips, trampoline records, twisting flips, skipping flips, and even blindfolded backflips, featured on Guinness World Record Day in North America. In 2022, the Mayor of Akron, Ohio, Dan Horrigan, honored me with a proclamation—April 21st is celebrated as “Dinesh Sunar Day.” For a boy from a small Nepali village who once trained alone on sandbanks, this was beyond a dream. But my journey in the United States was not easy. Like many immigrants, I worked as a delivery person, a dishwasher, a cook, a food runner, and even as a caregiver, just to survive. I was far away from my family, carrying the pain of separation from my mother and father. Many nights, I felt alone. But I reminded myself: struggle is the price of success. Every challenge made me stronger.Today, I am proud that my story has been featured in over 100 publications worldwide, including BBC, ABC, NBC, and leading Nepali media like Kantipur and NTV. But I don’t see these as just my achievements—they are a symbol of what is possible when you refuse to quit.My vision is simple: I want to inspire the youth, promote health and fitness, and make America fit again through parkour and sports. I want to give children in Nepal proper training facilities so they don’t have to risk their lives the way I once did. I want to bring Nepali energy and skills to Hollywood, to create a new wave of action storytelling that inspires the world. Most of all, I want to say thank you—to my teachers, to my community, to my friends, and to the Nepalese American Law Enforcement Association for honoring leaders like us today. Your belief gives strength to people like me, who once had nothing but a dream. To the youth listening: never give up. Obstacles are not meant to stop you; they are meant to test how much you want your dream. If you want it with all your heart, nothing can stop you. From sand mountains to world records, from Nepal to the United States, my life is proof that anything is possible.Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. #foryou #trending #keepsupporting #recommendations #awards #keeploving
