Focus on clubs dedicated to your hobbies. Or just hit up bars often until you become a regular and get to know folk that way. Work really isn't the best place to make friends.

I joined my local theater volunteer staff and even participated in some adult shows. I loved theater in HS so when I didn’t go to college right away it felt like a good way to make new ones.

sign up for classes of things you’ve always wanted to try. i’m taking improv and there are a bunch of people of different ages in there and we hang out once a week. lots of libraries host free events!

Local music shows, working at a yoga studio, interning at a local magazine as a makeup artist and straight up asking cool acquaintances if they want to hang out is the way I navigate this! Good luck💝

compliment people. everyone likes hearing nice things about themselves. it’s also easy to start a convo based on that. “i like your band shirt, what’s your fav song by them?” it always works for me.
