When I bought my house 10 years ago, I was a single mom of 1, and bought my house for $170k with no money down, at 2.5% rate. It was a USDA loan. My credit score then was 640. Helped me so much.

They have two programs, guaranteed loan & direct loan. The guaranteed loan is through a lender, the direct loan is through usda. You have to have very low income to qualify for the direct loan

My daughter had a USDA loan. During Covid, the pymts were suspended by the USDA until it was over. Instead of attaching those pymts to the principal, they doubled her monthly pymts to make up for it!
