@greentea.cycle: I took on the challenge of assembling my own bicycle wheels! 💪 First, I researched the best methods for assembly. It was fascinating to learn why disc wheels are often built with the front in reverse Italian lacing and the rear in JIS lacing. For this build, I followed the recommendations from GROWTAC's website. I chose reverse Italian lacing for the front wheel and JIS lacing for the rear, both in a 2-cross (4 spokes) pattern! 😊 The carbon rims I used from EQUAL are offset rims, which means to enhance lateral stiffness, I installed the spokes on the drive side more closely together. While I cut this part out of the video, I mounted the spokes on the non-disc side of the front hub, which has a minimal dish. I referred to books and videos for guidance. Although it was a bit confusing at first, assembling it myself helped me understand why each step was necessary 😮 Still, it's quite a difficult task. After finishing, I kept checking several times to make sure everything was done correctly 🤣 Next up is the ultimate challenge: truing the wheels!
