@emmiesfarm: Part Three 🏚️ After removing the cement render, re-pointing the entire house with lime mortar and having all of our downstairs mullion windows replaced we were feeling pretty accomplished. However once our builders left we realised we needed to figure out some sort of window solution as the house was totally exposed and snow was due that week! Due to the house being listed we knew we had to go “frameless” with our windows but this meant that no professional window fitters wanted the job. At this point we thought “how hard can it be?” and decided to fit our own windows! Our mullions have a very small lip running down the middle which meant with a little putty and a lot of courage our glazing units should in theory just slot right in. Nine windows later and we were finished. This job, as daunting as it may have seemed at first, was the best thing we could have done for this house. We’re so excited to continue lovingly restoring our cottage!
