You should deadlift in an effort to develop your lower body, and expect to see some back development as a byproduct over the years as you train (This is assuming you’re focused on hypertrophy) But, depending on your goal, stiff leg deadlifts, romanian deadlifts, conventional deadlifts, etc. can all help to an extent. Deadlifts will be like icing in the cake for your back thickness. • The Best Method? Something like the chest supported row I show at the end. It will lead to the most growth for a thicker back. Throw straps on so that your grip is not limiting how much you can lift. Keep your chest in contact with the pad, and use a full ROM. Rowing with arms at a 45° angle or flared more outward will both work. Just make sure to retract your shoulders (PINCH them together!) • Teres Major Known as the “Lats little helper”, the Teres will be hit whenever you’re training your Lats 💯 so, don’t worry about training it specifically. *Hat tip*🎩👌🏼 to @liftrunbang1 for always referring to the Teres with this terminology.
