@sophiemorrisofficial: Snacks are probably the biggest category for ultra processed foods and I know many people struggle with ideas for healthy snacks, especially if they’re on the go. I think olives are really underrated as a snack option! They’re such a brilliant healthy snack - rich in heart healthy fats, polyphenols, vitamin E & A, and are anti-inflammatory. And due to the fats they will keep you feeling satiated. But many people would automatically reach for these olives in plastic containers in the fresh section - assuming “fresh” section olives would be best! But the vast majority of the time these plastic tubs of olives also contain added oils and preservatives which is just not necessary to have with your olives! Whereas if you head over to the dry goods section and look at the olives in jars there, not only can you avoid buying plastic but you’ll also find the olives are a lot cheaper and don’t contain added oils or preservatives 👌🙌 Another great example that products in the fresh section are not always better!! Did you know this about olives? Where do you look in the supermarket when buying olives? I’d love to know in the comments ❤️ #cleverswap #olives #additives #sophiesswaps
I would take the potassium sorbate over the jarred olives, drowned in brine, horrific for cardiovascular and kidney disease.

I prefer the fresh ones purely for their texture. A lot of the jarred ones are soggy being in the brine

Buy jarred Kalamata olives in oil with pits - they are more tender just remember the stone tear apart for pastas, dab with kitchen paper when serving and they last for ages and ages in fridge
