@pubity: The Coquerel’s sifaka is a type of lemur. Lemurs are a group of primates that naturally live only on the island of Madagascar. Coquerel’s sifakas inhabit the dry deciduous forests of northwest Madagascar. They eat a diverse, plant-based diet of leaves, fruits, flowers, petioles, and bark that varies seasonally. Coquerel’s sifakas live in social groups of 2-14 individuals and a dominant female is in charge. In most lemur species, the females are in charge! Sifakas move using a locomotion style called “vertical clinging and leaping”. The sit upright and use their long and powerful back legs to propel them through the trees.
