@ems0102: I was recently discharged from the Hospital for my Crohn’s flare. I have a history of being pretty unresponsive to treatment so I’ve started Skyrizi (Rizankizumab) as my last option before surgery is potentially required. I need 3 doses via IV, 4 weeks apart to have the right level in my body. Then I will switch to injections at home. I received 5 days of IV steroids and now I’m taking Budesonide. I was previously on Prednisolone, but in case I end up needing surgery taking Budesonide in the meantime should give me a better surgical and recovery outcome. Doctors think I have a stricture in my small bowel which Skyrizi could potentially heal. If the stricture has formed scar tissue then I will need a right-sided hemicolectomy. I had to record a daily bowel habits chart. This provides helpful info to Doctors when assessing my condition. Towards the end of my Hospital admission, I started treatment for bile acid malabsorption. Luckily, I found the food was pretty good with a decent amount of options. However, I’m now supposed to be on a low residue diet because of my stricture. I wasn’t told about this until my last consultation before I was discharged. I’m so grateful for the treatment I received for my Crohn’s flare. I have an upcoming colonoscopy and small bowel MRI to look into the progress of my condition. I will keep you all updated! 💜 #inflammatoryboweldisease #IBD #bowelcondition #ibdawareness #boweldisease #crohnsdisease #crohns #ulcerativecolitis #ibdtiktok #skyrizi #risankizumab #stoma #ostomy #stomabag #smallbowelcrohns #ibdtreatment #livingwithibd #hiddendisability #invisibleillness #chronicillness #chronicallyill #chronicillnessawareness #doctor #hospital #hospitaltiktoks #gastro #diarrhoea #chronicpain #constipation #bileacid #bileacidmalabsorption #bowelresection #chronicillnesscommunity #livingwithchronicillness #chronicillnesstiktok

I also didn't respond to the treatments they tried so I more or less went straight to surgery. Got my stoma in 2008, had it removed in 2011 and got it back in 2015.
