My granpa was a young captain in the 5th SS panzer division "Wiking" a battle hardened soldier fighting non stop from 1941 all the way to the final defense of the fatherland with his five brothers

I think I saw that the only Army fully mechanised at the start of ww2 was the BEF but they had to leave all of it behind at Dunkirk .

Germany had a really small automotive industry in the 30s. Seems strange because the opposite is true last 50 years. Just as well with oil constraints.
