My bf asked how I could cook so well, and my answer was that I’m broke lol. I HAVE to cook my food from scratch. I don’t have premade food money.

No literally. Food is the EASIEST expense to control, by far. That’s the FIRST place you should make adjustments.

I’ve seen these hauls where ppl say groceries are so expensive and EVERYTHING is packaged. Not one vegetable. Not even frozen vegetables 😂

I always bulk shop proteins at the first of the month and then weekly deals for ingredients to work around whatever proteins I bought that month!

Two things can be true at once: 1. Everything at the grocery store is expensive these days 2. We can avoid creating additional struggle by shopping at stores that make groceries more affordable.

Yesss! I made myself get comfy with generic aldi brand "snacks" because it's $1.97/potato chips vs $5/same size Lays

100% this is one of the most overlooked areas! My husband and I meal plan based on sales every week and it makes a huge difference

When people constantly say groceries are SOO expensive and I say “have you been looking through the coupons? That’s what I do” and they look at me like I’ve grown a second head 😂

I agree. All those grocery shopping videos. I saw a bunch of low income folks being like, "They're nee poor." No one who grew up poor would shop like that and be surprised by the price

You’re so right. I looked at my spending since August 470 avg on groceries and 380 avg month on eating out. I try at aldi mostly but I was traveling and those little 7$ coffees and sweet treat add UP

I cycle between three stores, one each week. Stock up on things that cost less at that particular store when I go. Use all the coupons. Avg 150 per week for two people and two pets.
