The current Environmental Assessment is inadequate and disregards protections for the Marine National Monuments and the endangered species they safeguard, including humpback whales, Hawaiian monk seals, green sea turtles, seabirds, and coral. Allowing debris to land here risks severe, irreversible harm to these ecosystems. It is unacceptable that this proposal was made without consulting Pacific region experts or communities.
