the guy that had my truck before me, attempted to remove the ac compressor but didn't finish, so the lines are off it and the compressor is still there

You should replace the receiver/dryer and orifice tube at the same time, we also flush the system if the compressor is making noise of seized

The only extra I would do is wash out the condenser with a hose just for the extra efficiency in the AC system !!
