A lot of wool from Iceland is unspun my more experienced knitting friend told me it’s due to the fiber type but also helps to trap heat and that’s what makes them so warm!

You can search up videos on YouTube on how to retwist the yarn so it has more strength.

Single ply yarn doesn’t have the same amount of twist to it allowing it to be fuller which is why heavier sweaters are usually knit with it because it provides more warmth.

It’s a lovely colour - as the yarn is fragile you could always just start knitting as you unravel, rather than wind it first etc. Might have less breakage that way?
