TikTok was also “incubated” in China. So it was able to work out the kinks before it came to the US. Startups in the US don’t have that advantage.

reminds me that diapers dot com went out of business because they refused to sell to Amazon so Amazon flooded the market with extremely cheap replacements and people kept buying from them instead
