I’ve been a little quiet for the past few days because I took a short break to take care of myself. When we’re constantly creating content, it’s easy to get so caught up that we forget to pause—and that’s how burnout starts. So I took the past week to reflect on my content: what’s been working, what hasn’t, and what I want to do better. Today, Sunday, we’re officially back. I’m starting with one of our favorites—one of those videos I know you all really love. As part of my Sunday ritual, after church I stopped by the store to pick up a few things to make soup because I was completely out of food. I hadn’t cooked all week due to how busy I’ve been, so I decided to make vegetable soup that would last me through the week. I also wanted to have some swallow, but I didn’t have fufu. The only thing I had was rice flour, so I used that—and honestly, it felt so good to eat an African meal that truly feels like home. On days like this, I’m reminded of who I am, where I come from, and my roots. I’m grateful to be able to cook the food I want, when I want, and on my own terms. After church, I changed out of my outfit, went straight into the kitchen, and started cooking before work since I had to be at work by 3 PM. I only had about three hours, but I finished right on time—and still had an extra hour to sit down and enjoy a very satisfying meal. I hope you all have a blessed week. As for the recipe, I honestly can’t give exact measurements because I struggle with recipes myself. But if you search for “eforiro on TikTok or YouTube, you’ll find plenty of videos that explain how to make it. I made mine my own way, especially since I’m in the U.S. and don’t have access to all the vegetables we use in Nigeria—but it turned out really good. I hope this video brought you a little bit of calm. Have a lovely week 🤍 #cozyevening #afterchurch #reset #cookdinnerwithme #sundayreset
