I just keep it simple. 10 reps, last 2 are difficult to failure, once they are no longer difficult I increase the weight. People over complicate it sometimes

the burn is a good way to know if you're effectively hitting the target muscle and experiencing metabolic stress as the burn/pump is a side effect of metabolic stress
