A very requested how-to: How to move a glaze cake to a cake platter without ruining the glaze ✨ Save this post for the next time you’re glazing a cake. This is something I very often, every time I post a glaze cake, gets questions about how to do. It was also a mystery for me when I started baking, as it always was tricky for me to move it without ruining the glaze somehow 😅 Now, I do this every time and it always works 😍 I know that some prefer to glaze on a tall glass and remove the exceeds glaze at the bottom with a knife, but for me, it just works better with the rack 🙏🏼 1. Glaze the frozen cake on a baking cooking rack (you can find the one I use on my Amazon page via link in bio) with parchment paper underneath (you also can find my go-to foolproof glaze recipe in my highlighted reels). Let the glaze drip off just a bit. Don’t wait for it to set. 2. Place two angles spatula’s at the bottom of the cake. Make sure that the tip of the spatulas meet so you have full control over the cake. Tip: Use spatulas that are flexible. That makes a big difference. Mine are from IKEA 🙏🏼 3. Lift the cake and carefully move it around the rack to remove the excess glaze. Do this a couple of times until all the excess at the bottom is removed. Tip: If you rack is moving when moving the cake, place something heavy around the corners of the rack 4. With the two spatulas still fully covering the body for a more controlled grip, lift the the cake platter. 5. While keeping pressing on the spatula, pull out the first spatula. 6. Place a meat needle at the bottom of the cake (try to insert it somewhere that won’t be seen afterwards) and pull out the second spatula while pressing it down and pressing the meat needle into cake, so the cake won’t ‘follow’ the spatula when you pull it out. 7. Wipe off any excess glaze with a dish cloth.
