My insurance just flat out said "we don't cover any bariatric surgery". I went with EOC and spent less for the complete procedure than my copay would have been in the US. Best.Decision.Ever

This happened to me. After spending thousands of dollars on testing copays!!! Over $3000 I spent trying to get approval.

After going through the process and all the test, and 3 months of doctor appts with nutritionists, pyschiatrist, etc a week before surgery, insurance denied me.

I had a lapband slip after a pregnancy. Which then resulted in a hernia. In the us they wanted over 15k to take it out and then wouldn't revise without more out of pocket cost plus 6 months of waiting
