Long weekend coming up guys! 🥳 If you’re still thinking where to go, I compiled this for you, you’re welcome 😆 . I’ve always loved checking out non-touristy places whenever I’m traveling, especially domestically. Managed to try few of such places in Ipoh in my most recent trip. Was really happy with my finds! . First and last spots in the video are rather touristy but food is good 👍 The others are my personal finds and was really pleased with everything I tried! . 📍Kedai Makanan Loke Wooi Kee - kopitiam with hawker stalls that’s popular for kai see hor fun (shredded chicken noodles). my Ipoh friend also recommended to try the hor hee & rojak . 📍Igu Igu Desserts - I wish they also have this in KL 🥲 really loved their extensive selection of creative Asian desserts. ranging from traditional tong sui to beautiful and pretty bingsu desserts. many of their ingredients are stated as house-made. nice interior as well. . 📍@decafeandresthouse - this is a cozy simple cafe that’s below a guest house / backpacker’s hostel. some of the backpackers work in the cafe too. menu consists of wholesome healthy breakfast options, pasta, rice and desserts. nice place to escape the heat and chill over a cuppa and a croissant / apple crumble. . 📍Paloh Bean Sprout Chicken - speciality is steamed white chicken rice and beans sprout. really loved the rice and chili! chicken was smooth and tender. beans sprout was fresh and crunchy. fun fact: Paloh is the old name for Ipoh . 📍Yong Tau Foo @ Chong Kee “Pokok Besar” Restaurant - misses eating this in my last trip so this round can’t miss it. many varieties of YTF and all freshly made as turnover is high. even on a Monday it had a queue. price is so cheap compared to KL - only RM1.40 per pc 🙀 you can pair YTF with noodles (many options) or chee cheong fun (from another stall) . #ipoh #ipohfood #ipohfoodie #myfoodhunter
