I made the switch to travel nursing in 2021 and honestly, I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to staff nursing. I have many reasons why I choose travel nursing, but my top 4️⃣ are: 1️⃣ Time Freedom! I am so grateful I get to choose when and how long I work each contract! After grinding for over 2 years in BC with little to no breaks in between, I was able to take the Winter off and come home to Newfoundland to see my friends and family. Without travel nursing I never would have been able to drive across the country as seamlessly and be off work as long as I’ve been! 2️⃣ Access To Adventure: My style of travel nursing is exploring an unknown place and making the most of the new adventures, cultures and amazing eats/drinks at every new location! There is nothing more fun to me than diving head first into something new, and getting paid along the way is a dream 🫶🏼🥾🏔️ 3️⃣ Speaking of getting paid along the way, one of the obvious reasons to start travel nursing is the increased wages and reimbursements you can be eligible for as a travel nurse. [NOTE: In my opinion, you should definitely have a couple years of experience under your belt before trying travel nursing as the increased wages are for a reason! Others are happy to help, however as a traveller you are expected to be adaptable and independent with little orientation necessary, please get confident in your abilities and get your baseline experience first!💕] 4️⃣ The Sense of Community. Sometimes it can be easy to feel jaded in a career that is fast paced and unforgiving, but the travel nursing community is a big and welcoming one, one that I’m proud to be a part of! I’d recommend travel nursing to any nurse. If you’re wondering if you should take the plunge, this is your sign! 🫶🏼✨✈️ #travelnurse #travelnursing #eastcoast #taketheplunge
