My dad made me memorize my social at 8 years old in case I had to prove I was a citizen. Sad to think some of us kids had to worry about this.

I already had this talk w my parents . My parents are US citizens but don’t speak English well and I’m afraid of their assumptions and lack of interest they have to ask for identification!

Ask if u r being detained or arrested? Get a YES or NO from them. Ask for an arrest/search warrant if they r detaining u. If they aren’t arresting u tell them “okay, then I’ll go on about my day.”

Be really careful on public transportation. I live in Seattle & in 2019 we had a big 🧊 crackdown where they were boarding buses & hassling people for identification

My brother told us to get a passport card when we get our passports. Best purchase fr bc now I can easily carry my passport info in a card. Now it's easier to get a real ID
