small asterisk. chase sapphire reserve holders get 1.5x the cash value in points. this makes a lot of independent budget hotels viable in low cost countries.

Hotels are one thing. I found it really challenging to find good point redemption with airlines, so I use the Chase portal to cash in some of my points and get a 25% bonus.

The hotels I’m looking up actually cost MORE to use their points than paying or using credit card points. $140/14,000 card points. 15,000 hotel points. Xfer from card to hotel is 1:1

yep i always get hyatt. got grand hyatt in bali for a exec massive suite for 12K pts a night and that includes their amazing breakfast buffet 😎

Literally the only hotel point worth transferring like this is Hyatt. Cap One or Amex hotel partner is not worth it. Right…? Let me know if I’m doing it wrong lol

As someone who works in CC Disputes at a major bank, 10000% confirm the third party struggles. Make sure to fully understand restrictions and what you’re booking before doing it.
