Awesome! Quick tip, save those skins, dehydrate and grind for tomato powder. It’s a great flavor enhancer.

My cabinets are nearly empty because almost all my food came from my garden. One thing o dont have is tomato paste. I have alot of tomatoes left. Ill use them to make paste for the year. Tip: season some with Italian seasoning and garlic powder to make Italian tomato paste. I use my paste in my pasta sauce to chicken it more. I also use it to make pizza sauce.

and never discard "water". that golden nectar is the most flavour intense part of the fruit. the rest is pulp and bulk but bland by comparison

Helpful hint: SAVE THE SKINS!!!! Dehydrate them, let dried skins set over night, and run through a food processor. Store the tomato powder in an air tight container. I add it to soups, etc. Add water to make a paste or tomato sauce. I use my dehydrator but they can be dried in a low temp oven also

i am purely in the investigative stage of canning (never tried it but really interested in starting) but i thought adding oil to canned goods could caused it to go rancid?
