One of my favorite skincare combinations is azelaic acid in the morning and tretinoin at night. They each do something different, which is why they work so well together. In the morning, azelaic acid helps fade dark spots, reduce redness, calm inflammation, improve acne, and even out your skin tone. At night, tretinoin stimulates collagen production, increases skin cell turnover, smooths skin texture, helps with fine lines, and treats acne. Together, you’re targeting: • Pigmentation • Collagen production • Acne • Skin texture • Overall skin health Here’s how to use them: Morning: • Cleanser • Azelaic acid • Moisturizer if needed • SPF 30 or higher every single day Night: • Cleanser • Let your skin dry completely • Apply a pea sized amount of tretinoin to your entire face • Follow with moisturizer if needed A few things to remember: • Start tretinoin 2 to 3 nights a week if you’re new to it, then slowly increase as your skin adjusts. • A little goes a long way. More product doesn’t mean better results. • Don’t skip sunscreen. If you’re trying to fade dark spots, SPF is non negotiable. • Be consistent. Most people start noticing improvements after several weeks, with continued improvements over the following months. Save this for your next skincare routine, share it with someone who needs to see it, and follow for more skincare, longevity, and primary care tips.
