If you’re in an automatic if you have the first and second gear you can swap into second and it will slow you down, once you’re at about 40kph your emergency brake will work. Good job. 🙏🏻

I may have misspoke when I said emergency brake, in my car it's more of a parking brake I hope that helps clear up some confusion. Pulling it suddenly while going that speed would cause skidding &

for manual cars: downshift whenever u can and when you are slow enough, just use ur emergency brake. for automatic: you can slso try and downshift + also, emergency brakes on newer models+

also, if you’re driving a manual/stick - you can gear down as a method of slowing down (if you’re in 5th gear and brakes fail, gear down to third and then second and first and then put in neutral)

Pump the brakes, downshift, slowly apply the emergency brake, find somewhere soft-ish to rub the side against to show you down. That's the proper order.

glad you're okay, however neutral is one of the worst things you can do to slow down. put your car in 1st or 2nd to engine brake. it forces your car to slow. neutral will go as fast as you'regoing

I've been thought that you can also use your hand brake to brake, by lifting it slowly, that's what my instructor taught me. Glad all of you are ok 🫶🏻
