if they put the colors together in the packaging, it doesn't look at appealing. scattered colors makes it look like more colors are available. it's a marketing tactic, hope that helps 😊

had a teacher in elem that had sorting these as one of a few activities (such as quiet reading and word searches) to be done if you finished your work early

I once broke into my teacher classroom during lunch to sort these by colors cuz it was out of order & it was bothering me same thing with a few other art supplies, I got in trouble 😐

My dad used to work at a factory that produced these: it’s because they’re on these huge rolls of paper and are basically all cut at once to 8.5X11 so you get all the different colors

I worked at a daycare once and sorting out packs of construction paper by color to send to different classeswas literally part of my job.

thats the fun of it "hey do you have this color" then you get to say "I have no idea you can find out for yourself be going through it but I surly wont"😂

Well yeah.... they would cut and dye all one color at a time. Why not 15 of red, then 15 of orange, etc. I ha e questions lol

Teacher kid here.... that was my job every summer since I could remember. For ALL the teachers in the dept. I sorted soooo much paper. I now homeschool. My kids sort it themselves 😎😆

just searched it up — apparently it’s more cost-effective to put a lotta colors in a single pack rather than make separate batches 😭 i believe it’s possible to buy separate packs of (1/2)
