There’s also a trend of not wanting a job”beneath” you. Sometimes you might need to take a retail/service job or side gig while you are looking for something permanent. You can make good money serving/bartending weekends and still having open availability during the week for other interviews

idk i feel like the pandemic "stole" a solid 3-4 years from us. I could see being 19 in 2025 after having missed a regular teen experience as still feeling like a child & wanting to put off growing up

It also had to do with the fact that our parents were able to sustain their lifestyle and families off of their incomes (both of my parents were teachers) whereas now that’s NOT the case
