I first met @Gabbie Warrior Queen back in 2020, and I was in absolute awe of her. No matter what life threw at her or how much suffering she endured, her faith was unwavering, and her joy was contagious. I was also blown away by the love she shared with her amazing husband, Frank. What a love story! Frank was by her side every moment, loving her unconditionally. Frank never left her side, never wavered. He is the definition of what being “man enough” looks like—someone who I aspire to be. Their love story is a guiding light, showing what’s possible when we believe in something greater than ourselves. Gabbie loved everyone, and her smile and laugh lit up any room. It’s warriors like Gabbie and Frank who keep me going, and who remind me why I do this work. As Gabbie’s health declined, we were able to host her and her husband for the premiere of It Ends With Us. Her doctors said she was crazy to go, but nothing was going to stop her. While she may have thought she was being given a gift that night, what she didn’t know was that she was the one giving us the gift of her presence. The glitz and glamour of premieres often overshadow the reason films get made in the first place. But Gabbie gave us the gift of perspective—a reminder of how fleeting all of this is. And that the only thing that really matters is love and the people we share it with. She was the highlight of all of our night. As we talked, she told me she had just gotten hard news regarding her health but was refusing to give up and was grateful for every moment God gave her. Luckily, one of my best friends—and her favorite artist—@andygrammer was with us. We all got to sing her favorite song to her. I’ve had a lot of beautiful moments in my life and career, but holding her hand in that moment will forever be one of my favorites. This week, God called Gabbie back home. Our hearts go out to her entire family, especially Frank. She is an angel who will be deeply missed.
