@philipdefranco: Trump Threatens Putin With The “Hard Way” #usa #america Trump has threatened Putin today with taxes, tariffs, and sanctions if he doesn’t negotiate an end to the war. It’s undoubtedly a great sign for Ukraine, however some have noted that there is effectively no trade between Russia and the US so taxes and tariffs aren’t really going to work, and Russia is already the most sanctioned country on earth. Trump ended his threat with “we can do this the easy way or the hard way”, which is another great sign for Ukraine. One could assume the hard way would mean substantially more military aid to Ukraine. But it's hard to know what he truly means though if we’re being totally honest. Within the past month, Trump has both been opposed to military aid to Ukraine but also for it because he supposedly told Macron that he will continue it. And yesterday, Trump signed an order suspending all foreign aid programs but left Ukraine and Israel out of that. Before he left, Biden took 20 billion dollars of Russia’s assets and gave it to Ukraine in the form of a loan. The loan will then be paid back to the US over 30 years by using the interest accrued on the other Russian assets they have frozen. Biden then Trump-proofed it, by transferring it to the World Bank so Ukraine could continue to use that money to buy US military equipment. It’s thought that maybe Trump will do the same thing because it really is the art of the deal – You give Ukraine Russia’s money, and then Ukraine has to use that money to buy stuff from American companies.
