my wife is a school teacher and there are kids in her class that don't even speak English and have no desire to learn English so they sit in her class with their student translator disturbing class

well, i doubt that would happen but If it did I'd explain the child's parents NOT the child did something wrong & now they have to sort out if they are allowed to stay or have to leave.

We would explain how sad we are for him and his family,same thing we would say if a parent was sent to jail,move because of a divorce,job switch,military orders! Followed with we have choices in life

well I don’t have kids but have had this happen with a friend and basically they got told that there friend will be back eventually after there are illegal and she tried explaining

That's easy, ill tell them their friend's parents broke the law & entered the country illegally & now they have to go back to the country that they came from. You break the law, you will get punished for it. 🙄
