Off topic, I did not know Pakistan did birthright citizenship and looked it up and its been law there since 1951. I do wonder if close allyship with the U.S influenced it. Tyvm for this explanation!

A lot of European Countries had jus soli until the formation of the EU and border-free schengan zones. Ireland voted to remove it in 2005 after Chen v Home Secretary.

most of the countries without birth right citizenship its not so hard and expensive to become a citizen in either or they have pretty good residency rules so it's kinda moot.
