Unpopular opinion: forget Cancún 👀 Home to the second largest coral reef in the world, this authentic fishing town is situated between Cancun and Tulum - looking for a party? This isn’t the place, it’s all about taking it easy and enjoying the scenery 🌊 After 5 weeks in the beautiful Puerto Morelos I’d recommend it to ANYONE! Great food, quiet cenotes, stunning beaches and happy welcoming people - how could you not fall in love? Myself and my partner both commented that everywhere we travelled to during our time on the Riviera Maya didn’t quite have the same magic and authentic feel you can find in Puerto Morelos ✨ Split into two halves, you’ll find most locals staying on the colonia side while the more “touristy” stuff is unsurprisingly on the port side near the beach 🏖️ It might sound counterintuitive but the colonia side is where all the best food is so definitely stay there, it’s super easy to get to the beach using a bike, colectivo (local bus/minivan) or walking if you have the time! Some amazing things to do in Puerto Morelos: 🌮 EAT!
